Prizes
Best UI/UX
Awarded to the project with the best user interface and/or experience! Whether you’re a designer or just someone with a passion for elegant use-cases, this is the category for you. (Metaphorical) bonus points and massive respect if you somehow win this category using Tkinter!
Each member of the winning team will receive a Chromebook.
Best Use of AWS
Pretty straightforward! We’re a big fan of AWS (in case you missed it, they’re our title sponsor!) and this is their category. The winner of this prize will be the team that best uses the AWS Cloud for their hack!
Each member of the winning team will receive Echo Dot 4's.
Hack for the People
This past year highlighted a lot of struggles many of us may not have noticed in the past. If we want to fight poverty, social injustice, climate change, or another big problem facing the world right now, we’re all going to have to work to make it happen. If you spend your time at CUhackit making a project to do just that, this is your category.
Each member of the winning team will receive a Fitbit Watch.
Best Beginner Hack
This one goes to a team with true spirit. If you came in a little green and are coming out a little more golden, you might take home the gold in this category! We’re looking for teams that stretch their abilities, explore unfamiliar territory, and show an ambitious spirit throughout the entire hackathon!
Each member of the winning team will receive a Noise-Cancelling Headphones.
Best API Use
Any team that uses an API is eligible for this category! If you can make us astounded, confounded, or dumbfounded, you’ve got a great shot. The team that wins us this award will have used an API in their project and shown us the wow-factor they were able to achieve with it. Each member of the winning team will receive Apple Airpods.
Best Domain Registered with Domain.com
Register a .tech, .space, or .online domain name using Domain.com during the weekend. Each team may submit one entry per person on the team. Each winning team member will receive a PowerSquare Qi Wireless Phone Charger & Domain.com Backpack.
Best use of Google Cloud
Build your hackathon project with a suite of secure storage, powerful compute, and integrated data analytics products provided by Google Cloud. See full list of products here: g.co/cloud. Each winning team member will receive a Google Branded Parkland Academy Backpack.
